Shopify App

Fix every product image
in your store, in bulk

SEOPix scans your Shopify catalog, finds the images hurting your SEO and page speed, and fixes them: AI alt text, SEO filenames, compression, WebP. Originals backed up for 30 days.

15 free credits for new accounts · No API token to copy · Billed through Shopify

What the scan finds

One click on Scan store and every product image is checked. Read-only — nothing changes until you approve.

Alt

Missing alt text

Invisible in Google Images and to screen readers. AI writes a descriptive alt text in the language you choose.

SEO

Generic filenames

IMG_4523.jpg says nothing to search engines. Renamed to 5-10 descriptive English keywords.

-60%

Oversized images

Resized to your max dimension and recompressed. Lighter pages, better Core Web Vitals.

WebP

Outdated formats

JPEG and PNG converted to WebP — the format Shopify themes and Google both prefer.

30d

Every original backed up

Each replaced image is stored for 30 days. One-click Restore per image from the Products page.

1

1 credit per image

Compression + WebP + alt text + SEO filename, all included. Failed images are refunded automatically.

From install to a fixed catalog

1

Install from the App Store

Install SEOPix and approve the permissions. The app runs inside your Shopify admin — you never leave it.

Your SEOPix account is created and linked automatically from your store email, with 15 free credits. No token to copy anywhere.

2

Choose your settings

In Settings, set output format, max dimension, quality and alt-text language (details below), then Save settings.

3

Scan your store

Dashboard → Scan store. You get the real numbers: how many images need attention, broken down by issue type, and how many are already fine.

4

Fix all — or one by one

Fix all N images processes the whole backlog, up to 50 images per run (click again to continue). Or open Products, filter by issue, and optimize image by image.

A confirmation is shown before the first bulk run so you know exactly what will change.

5

Restore anything, for 30 days

Not happy with a result? Products → Restore puts the original image back, with its original alt text, at its original position in the gallery.

The settings, explained

Four settings, applied to every Optimize and Fix all run. Change them anytime — they only affect future runs.

Output format

WebP · JPEG · PNG · Keep original

WebP is the default and the right answer for almost every store: same visual quality, much smaller files. Pick JPEG only if you need maximum compatibility with an old theme, PNG if the image needs transparency, or Keep original to compress without converting.

Max dimension

1024 · 1600 · 2048 · 2700 · 4096 px

Applies to the longest side. 2048 px is Shopify's recommendation and the default — it stays sharp on retina screens without weighing pages down. Drop to 1600 or 1024 px if page speed is your priority, go to 2700 or 4096 px only if customers zoom deeply into product details.

Quality

50 to 95 (default 85)

85 is the sweet spot: no visible loss, big size reduction. Below 70 artifacts start showing on flat backgrounds and gradients. Above 90 you pay in kilobytes for a difference nobody sees.

Alt text language

EN · FR · ES · DE · IT · PT · NL · ZH

Pick the language your customers browse in — alt text is read by them and by Google in that market. Filenames always stay in English: that's what performs in image search worldwide.

Before vs After

A typical phone photo uploaded straight to a product page, with the default settings applied.

Before SEOPix

  • Image: 1.4 MB JPEG, 4032×3024
  • Filename: IMG_4523.jpg
  • Alt text: (empty)
  • Format: JPEG
  • Google Images: invisible

After SEOPix

  • Image: 190 KB (-86%)
  • Filename: blue-white-striped-midi-dress.webp
  • Alt text: "Robe midi à rayures bleues et blanches…"
  • Format: WebP, 2048 px max
  • Variants + gallery order: unchanged

Replacing images is reversible

30-day backup

Every original is stored before replacement and restorable per image from the Products page.

Automatic refund

If the pipeline fails on an image, the old image stays in place and your credit is refunded.

Nothing is silent

A confirmation explains what will change before your first bulk run, and results are reported per image.

Your catalog structure is preserved

Variant image links and gallery order are carried over to the new image.
